Separate the different parts of the work
Locating a leak, opening a surface, repairing the pipe and restoring the finish are distinct activities. An insurance policy may treat them differently. Read your documents and ask the insurer how its conditions apply to the proposed work.
Ask about approval before the appointment
Your insurer may have requirements about authorisation, evidence or contractors. Share any relevant instructions or claim reference when arranging the visit. Cover, limits and any excess are matters to confirm with the insurer.
Keep a clear record
The Trace & Access report records the investigation and relevant findings, access and plumbing repair. Supporting photographs can help explain what was found. Keep the report and the booking or payment records with other information about the incident.
A report is evidence, not an approval
Flow Tracker does not decide policy coverage or guarantee reimbursement. The £1,350 package includes the report and agreed residential plumbing work; decorative and remedial reinstatement is excluded from the package regardless of how an insurer assesses a claim.
What to tell us when you enquire
Ask your insurer whether approval is required before the appointment. Keep any policy instructions or claim reference available. You remain responsible for discussing cover and reimbursement with the insurer.
