Water leak detection

A clear route from unexplained water loss to an informed repair decision.

Start with what you have noticed

A water leak is not always a puddle beside a pipe. It may first appear as a climbing bill, damp flooring or a stain that returns after decorating. Flow Tracker investigates the water system and the property together, so the visible symptom is considered alongside the possible source.

Follow the evidence through the property

We begin with your account of the problem and checks on accessible plumbing. Where suitable, isolation and pressure checks help distinguish different sections of pipework. The engineer then selects useful tracing methods for the materials, layout and conditions. Comparing the findings helps narrow the area that may need access.

Signs that can prompt an investigation

  • Water use you cannot explain
  • A damp patch that repeatedly returns
  • Water heard when no fitting is in use
  • A water supplier warning of a possible leak

Planning the visit

Simply describe the symptom and the property. If you already have a water company letter, an earlier plumber’s findings or photos, have them available. You do not need to diagnose the leak before contacting us.

What to be aware of

Different causes can produce similar symptoms. We explain whether the findings support a plumbing repair or suggest that another type of investigation is needed.

A method that may help

Pressure testing & isolation

Assess which section of a system deserves closer investigation. The engineer selects the appropriate combination for the property.
