Do not rely on a puddle alone
A buried leak may appear some distance from its source, or drain away without reaching the surface. A supply notification and system behaviour can be as useful as visible wet ground. Let the evidence guide the investigation.
Make the route and permissions clear
Tell us about the meter, any known private supply route, shared drives and neighbouring boundaries. Existing plans or records of previous repairs can help. Avoid digging to prepare for an appointment.
Discuss access before the surface is opened
Suitable tracing helps identify an area for further investigation and repair. The proposed excavation is explained before work. Known buried services and surface restrictions need consideration when planning safe access.
The plumbing and the paving are separate
The agreed residential package includes required excavation and plumbing repair. Restoring the driveway surface, paving or landscaping is excluded. Arrange the reinstatement as separate work once the pipe problem has been addressed.
What to tell us when you enquire
Mention gates, parking, private lanes and any known buried services. Existing drawings can help. Leave the surface intact until the investigation supports a reason to open it.
